Bolton AES Lecture - Wine in Ancient Egypt

Professor Joann Fletcher is back in Bolton this Wednesday (note the change from the usual Tuesday) to talk to us about wine in Ancient Egypt. She will also be presenting this year’s Lotus Chalice Award at the meeting.
Joann will also be back in Bolton Museum on Friday (19th June at 6 pm), with Dr Carl Graves of the Egypt Exploration Society, to talk about the life of Amelia Edwards. Tickets are available here.
About the speaker
Professor Fletcher is an expert in the subject of body adornment in the ancient world: in particular, the use of wigs, perfumes, tattoos, cosmetics and amulets. Her research involves the study of human remains, not just from Egypt but from ancient cultures around the world.
Joann is a valued friend of the Bolton Archaeology and Egyptology Society and has given us lots of support over the years.
